EL Driver IC (up to 30cm2)
Description

The SM8142A/B is a transformer-less EL (Electro Luminescence) driver IC, capable of driving EL up to 30cm2 in size. It employs a high-efficiency driver output circuit configuration to control power dissipation. It is available in ultra-small SON-8 (Small Outline Non-leaded) packages*, making possible the construction of small, thin, low-power driver units in portable equipment.

· High voltage CMOS process
· Two oscillator circuits built-in for EL and coil (SM8142A)
· Enable function (SM8142B)
· 1.6 to 5.5V supply voltage range
· 60mA maximum operating current (VDD = 3.0V, Ta ≤ 85ºC)
· 200Vp-p maximum EL drive voltage
· 31 to 1000Hz EL drive frequency range
· 8Ω typical output resistance
