Announcement of company name change

Company Name to Change to Seiko NPC Corporation
On April 1, 2006, Nippon Precision Circuits, Inc. (NPC)* will change its name to Seiko NPC Corporation.
Since its founding in 1975 as a semiconductor manufacturer and sales specialty company, Nippon Precision Circuits, Inc. has developed many original products--many of them world firsts--under the NPC brand. In April 2005, NPC became a business unit of Seiko Corporation, and as a group member, has added the SEIKO brand name. NPC will also continue to be used as a commercial brand in the future.
The NPC, to be used in the new brand name is an abbreviation of the current company name. With the change in our company name, we will use the following concepts as the basis for driving company growth:
- Nonesuch Paragon Creative: The creation of unparalleled, outstanding products
- Nanotechnology Products Creative: The creation of products incorporating the most advanced technologies
The new NPC clearly embodies our intention to offer improved products that combine originality and the most advanced technologies and that will benefit society and spur company growth.
The change in company name is intended to develop an awareness in each employee that he or she is member of the SEIKO family and to serve as an incentive to grow the company in a way that benefits society.
