SEIKO NPC Corporation (HQ: Chuo-ku, Tokyo, President: Hiroaki Okawa) has released IC “7321 Series” for Voltage Control Crystal Oscillator (VCXO) having CMOS output format, and realizing low phase noise used for base transceiver stations such as the 5th generation mobile communication system (hereinafter referred to as 5G) .
Tokyo Olympic are scheduled in 2020, and it is expected that the traffic of the mobile communication system will increase. Research and development are currently being carried out to commercialize 5G, which supports specifications such as increased traffic volume, ultra high speed, ultra low latency, multiple terminal connection etc.
In the 7321 series, low phase noise is realized in the high frequency band from 60 MHz to 122.88 MHz, thereby signal delay which is regarded as important factor is minimized, and stable communication quality is realized in 5G.
1. Low phase noise
Based on the conventional product (VCXO IC: 5078 series), specializing in the high frequency band required for 5G, by improving the manufacturing process which has a bipolar oscillation circuit element and a varicap diode element, the phase noise characteristic in the vicinity is -10 dBc/Hz improve. This prevents the communication speed from lowering due to the influence of phase noise.
2.Minimized current consumption
Current consumption is suppressed to 8mA typical, contributing to lower power consumption in customer’s system.
