Seiko NPC Corporation has started full production of its recently developed SM5319AV/BV video buffer. This new video buffer is ideal for the REC OUT (video output) terminals of digital TVs such as liquid crystal display (LCD) TVs and plasma display panel (PDP) TVs.
With the growing popularity of a broad range of video equipment products, including LCD TVs, PDP TVs, and set top boxes (STBs), has come an urgent need for small, economical electronic parts. The recently released SM5319AV/BV meets this need.
The SM5319AV/BV is actually a small package (VSOP 8-pin) containing a single chip consisting of a Y/C mixer circuit, anti-aliasing filter, and output buffer. In response to an S image signal (Y and C separated signals) entered as the input, the package makes possible the simultaneous output of both the S image signal itself and a composite signal (combination of image signal and synchronizing signal) mixed with the S image signal. By using this product, manufacturers can reduce the area required by the printed boards for the REC OUT block as well as power consumption. The SM5319AV/BV is available in two versions, each with a different output gain, to accommodate different manufacturing requirements.
