Nippon Precision Circuits (NPC)^* has started mass production and shipment of the SM5305 series of 1-ch video buffer ICs with low-pass filter that operates at 2.7 to 3.6 V and realizes a standby current of 1 µA.

NPC is making efforts to expand the lineup of its video buffer IC products with built-in analog low-pass filter to satisfy market demands for high-resolution, high-definition video products. The SM5305 series are 1-ch video buffer ICs with a built-in low-voltage low-pass filter. These ICs have been mainly developed for portable equipment such as digital still cameras to help extend the battery life of such equipment because they have realized a standby current of 1 µA (which is about 1/100 of that of the conventional product). Some versions of this series allow selecting from 6.75 MHz and 13.5 MHz for the cut-off frequency of the low-pass filter. The output gain can be switched between 6 dB and 12 dB, depending on the specifications of the application set.

In the future, NPC plans to develop video buffers for the composite video for LCD TVs and PDPs that can operate at 5 V or in a wide temperature range. In addition, it also plans to develop models that allow you to select various cut-off frequencies and gains for your needs.
