NPC Develops New Clock Generator IC for DVD Devices
SM8706 series and SM8707 series Start Sample Shipping
Nippon Precision Circuits Inc. announces the beginning of sample shipping of the SM8706 series and SM8707 series, Clock Generator IC for DVD Devices.
NPC has developed several Clock Generator ICs for DVD devices, and now, new series, SM8706 series and SM8707 series, realized better performance and smaller package size than the previous series of NPC's, targeting the growing DVD players' market.
SM8706 series(36.8640MHz master clock) and SM8707 series(27MHz master clock) have two built-in PLL circuits, and they can independently generate six types of clock output required of audio, video and signal processor system, with just one crystal oscillator. Also, they support the 44.1kHz and 48kHz sampling frequencies which can be switched while the IC is operating.
SM8706 series and SM8707 series improve on their performance as the low jitter output (SM8707A : 20ps, typ., 1-sigma, CL=40pF), and are miniaturized in small 16-pin VSOP package.
NPC is convinced that SM8706 series and SM8707 series should be good solution for every DVD application.
