Nippon Precision Circuits Inc. announces the beginning of Sample shipping of the SM8145AB, a Dual EL Driver IC in ultra-small package that can control two EL sheets simultaneously.

NPC has developed various EL sheet driver ICs for the liquid crystal back light employed in watch, mobile phone, and portable audio equipment. This SM8145AB is the newest one in this series, for the value-added applications of mobile equipments, and its feature is controlling two EL sheets simultaneously.

The SM8145AB has four output modes(EL1 ON, EL2 ON, EL1&EL2 ON, OFF), and this enables the SM8145AB to adjust the luminance in each display mode. The driving two EL displays circuit in a very small mounting area can be realized with a ultra-small QFN 20-pin package to utilize in the wide range of applications.
