Nippon Precision Circuits Inc. announces the beginning of Mass production run of the SM8143AV, the best EL driver IC for Mobile IT Equipments.

NPC has developed various EL sheet driver ICs for the iquid crystal back light employed in watch, mobile phone, and portable audio equipment. This SM8143AV is the latest product in this series.

Recently, the Mobile IT equipments, such as PDA, Palm size PC or Handheld PC, are widespread all over the world and they are expected to have bigger size of display. NPC provides the best solution for driving the big size of EL sheet with this SM8143AV.

The SM8143AV can drive the EL sheet up to 80cm² in size which is required in many mobile IT equipments. Its improved driving ablity realizes the high brightness even the white color EL sheet, which is difficult to brighten, has high brightness as blue-green EL. Also, the EL drive frequency and coil drive frequency can be controlled independently, making the driver circuit optimizable to match application requirements.
